Petra Jordan Add-On

October 31 – November 2, 2023

A unique opportunity to extend your trip to Israel with a visit to the Negev Desert, the Red Sea and Jordan.

After the Israel Tour Farewell Dinner, we will overnight in Ber Sheva, where Patriarchs as well as the Holy Family rested and refreshed themselves on their way to Egypt.

The following morning (Day One), we will drive through the Negev Desert to Aqaba, Jordan on the Red Sea. On the way we will:

  • Visit the ancient Nabatean and Byzantine city of Avdat, one of the major cities on the ancient spice route.
  • Enjoy a spectacular view into the valley of the Biblical "Wilderness of Zin" where the Israelites passed through on their way from Egypt into the Land of Israel.
  • Stop at the ancient site of Timna for a tour of an exact replica of the Tabernacle of Moses
  • Enjoy dinner at our beautiful hotel on the Red Sea

Our morning starts early as we visit the village of Rum inside the Wadi Rum nature reserve (where the movie Martian was filmed). We board 4X4 jeeps and journey into the spectacular sandstone area of Wadi Rum for an off-road adventure into unique landscape and exploring rarely travelled ancient merchant routes.

We then visit the famous ancient city of Petra in the Siq Canyon. Explore the ‘Silica Quarries’, the Jinn Blocks and Petra’s most renowned monument, The Treasury (Khazneh). You can ride an Arabian horse or walk yourself down the canyon road. Petra is a truly unforgettable experience!

We then head to Amman for dinner and a well earned rest.

It was on this high mountain that the Lord showed Moses the entire promised land that Israel would inherit. Moses himself was not permitted to enter the land. He was buried somewhere in this vicinity (although his gravesite location is not known). Enjoy a beautiful view of the entire Jordan Valley, including the Dead Sea and the Judean hills beyond.

Amman is the capital of Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan which was founded 7000 years ago, the Human civilized occupation continued through the Greco-Roman era over Seven Mountains reaching nowadays over more than 20 mountains. The Major highlights of the City: Amman Citadel: where you can visit Amman Archaeological Museum, Hercules Temple, Byzantine Church & the Ummayad Palace. The Roman Amphitheater is in the down town next to the Folklore Museum. Amman down-town streets are ideal for short shopping walk within the old markets, and also you can enjoy Amman Cafe’s in the New Part of the city where the major Shopping Malls located.
